South Eastern Film Festival from Dec 3 to Dec 7 
The 2nd Luang Prabang Film Festival will take place in Laos's former royal capital Luang Prabang on 3-10 December 2011. A press conference on the film festival was held in Vientiane with the presence of Director of Film Department Bounchao Phichit, Director of the Luang Prabang Film Project Mr. Gabriel Kuperman and Vice-President of the Lao Journalist Association Mr. Somsamouk Misay.
The ongoing project is dedicated to harnessing the power of film to foster cultural development and plurality in Laos, build regional understanding in Southeast Asia and support sustainable development
The Luang Prabang Film Festival will have screened over 60 indigenous films from Southeast Asian nations reaching 18,000 in audiences, support the production and screening of 30 local student directed films, and provide the government officials with professional training in international cultural activity planning.
Following the main festival, there will also be a road show, which will screen a small selection of films in different cities throughout the country. The Luang Prabang Film Festival is organized in partnership with the Department of Cinema, the Lao journalists association, and UNESCO Bangkok.
